BROADCAST / VOICE
I am an experienced TV & Radio broadcaster commenting on social and cultural issues. I produce programmes for BBC Radios 3 & 4, along with the occasional documentary, and I am an enthusiastic podcasting devotee.
I also contribute to public policy issues. My knowledge of the UK broadcast industry, within a rapidly changing content environment, has led to my appointment as Chair of Ofcom’s Advisory Committee for Scotland.

I know exactly what it’s like to be in front of or behind the microphone or camera. It can feel daunting but in today’s digital world video and audio are a vital tool in communicating with your audience, whoever they may be. Getting the right message across is essential.
My relaxed interviewing style draws out the best from interviewees, whilst asking the important questions, and will enhance any video or podcast. And if it’s voiceover you’re looking for, keep scrolling…
The University of Strathclyde is one of my regular voiceover clients.
One of their video projects, for which I both advised on the script and did the voiceover, was an award winner at the British Universities Film & Video Council’s ‘Learning on Screen’ Awards.
‘Billy’s Story’ was described by the judges as ‘outstanding’. It followed Billy’s journey through the social work system. The winning entry covered the Children’s Hearing.
“I would like to thank you for your excellent work with the narration for the videos. Because the video is part of an online course, we also get positive comments and feedback from learners about all six parts of the film. Viewers really do get drawn into Billy’s Story and find it very emotional. Thank you and well done!”

When you employ me to do Voiceover, I work closely with you to ensure that the script communicates clearly to your audience. Often you’re too close to the material because you’re so familiar with it. I cast a fresh pair of eyes (and ears!) on it and will suggest edits or rewording if I think your message isn’t clear enough.
